About

Hi there!

I’m Beverly Vinch, and I’ve had the pleasure of calling Avon Lake, Ohio my home for over 30 years. My journey into jewelry-making began in 1999, and by 2010, I ventured into metal smithing. It was around this time that I realized I had an exquisite collection of Lake Erie beach glass, carefully gathered by my family since the 1960s. This discovery inspired me to create Washed Ashore Jewelry, LLC.

I was fortunate to study under the talented Kim Baxter at Flux Metal Studios in Mentor, Ohio, where I honed my skills over the past 15 years using the acetylene gas torch method. You can often find me at local art shows across northeastern Ohio and Pennsylvania, showcasing my unique creations.

In 2016, I built an art studio on my property in Avon Lake. I welcome private appointments, by request, whether you wish to shop or collaborate on a custom design using your found pieces of glass. Each piece I create is beautifully unique, always one of a kind, featuring beach glass and shipwreck pottery. Some of my pieces date back to the 1800s, originating from sunken ships that met their fate in the shallow waters of Lake Erie. Over the years, these treasures have been naturally broken and tumbled by the surf, ultimately washing up on our north coast beaches.

My designs are embellished with sterling silver, Swarovski crystals, semi-precious gemstones, mixed metals, charms, and freshwater pearls. Each piece can be personalized upon request.

I hope you enjoy these one-of-a-kind treasures from the past and appreciate the unique history behind each piece.
